For Group G both England
and Belgium got their qualification
in the second round of the Football World
Cup in two matches. The selection under the command of Gareth Southgate won
in his debut against Tunisia 2-1 and then beat Panama 6-1, to get among the 16
best selected from Russia. The national team commanded by Spanish Roberto
Martinez flourished 3-0 in its debut against Panama and then swept 5-2 to
Tunis. In spite of having obtained the classification, both teams were tied
almost in everything: six points and a half dozen difference of goals in favor.
The party will decide which selection will advance in the first position and
which will do so in the second and in case the current parity is maintained,
everything will be defined by cards accumulated in the World Cup.
Another pearl left by the British and Belgians is the
confrontation between two of the top scorers of the Soccer World Cup: Harry Kane, leader in the scorers table with five
shouts, and Romelu Lukaku, escort in the company of Cristiano Ronaldo with four
celebrations.
The curious thing about the game is that both teams begin to
speculate about their possible crosses in the second round and, a very reliable
option, is that being second in the zone is better variable. The reason is that
the first of Group G will face the second of Group H, composed of Japan,
Senegal, Colombia and Poland, while the second of Group G will go against the
first of that area. Not only in the second round the crossing is better for the
second, it is also in the continuation of the World Cup: while the leader would
clash with the first of Group E (Brazil, Switzerland or Serbia) or the second
of Group F (Mexico, Germany or Sweden), the escort would do it before the first
of the mentioned Group F or the second of Group E. The strange results of the
World Cup of Russia caused that the crosses in this part of the picture are
more beneficial for the second than for the first and the speculations for the
closing game between England and Belgium are in sight.
